SENNHEISER IN-EAR MONITORING

Sennheiser in-ear monitoring systems are more frequently used in live events where musicians need to hear a feed for reference. They can also be used in conferencing and lecture halls.

XSW IEM series

Sennheiser XS Wireless IEM system is intended for those wanting a simple way to monitor stereo audio signals in applications from ‘rehearsal, live performance, on a club stage, or for a worship service. This range consists of a static transmitter and belt pack diversity receiver.


XSW IEM SET

This is a complete system with transmitter, receiver and earphones. Individual transmitters and receivers can also be purchased as XSW IEM SR and XSW IEM EK. All transmitting/receiving parts are available in four frequency bands:

Band A 476-500MHz
Band B 572-596MHz
Band C 662-686MHz
Band E 823.2-831.8MHz

Complete systems include XSW IEM EK receiver, XSW IEM SR transmitter, BNC antenna, IE 4 earphones, 2x AA battery cells, XSW rack mount kit, NT 12-5 CW+ power supply, and guides.


XSW IEM SR Transmitter - Fixed

XSW IEM SR is a stereo transmitter, which can also operate in mono, fed from the left audio input socket. Eight frequency banks each have twelve precalculated channels that ‘just take a matter of seconds’ to select.

The ‘rugged metal housing’ is standard half-rack sizes and can be rack-mounted with the optional XSW rack mount kit. The transmitter is powered by 12V DC from the included NT 12-5 CW+ power adapter.

A dark grey coloured front panel has a 6.35mm headphone socket, for local monitoring, with an associated volume control. A 'sync' button is used to transfer settings to a receiver, an 'ESC' button helps with menu navigation. A backlit LED display shows current frequency and bank, channel ID, AF level, transmission status, transmission power, equalizer setting, and input sensitivity. Up/down keys positioned to the right of the LED screen allows the user to edit any applicable settings within the menu. A sync button enables infrared transmission of channel data from transmitter to XSW IEM EK receiver.

The rear facing panel offers a BNC connection for aerial connection, and DC 12V/500mA power supply input. Two combination jack and XLR connectors provide balanced, line-level audio inputs.

XSW IEM EK Receiver - Belt pack

Sennheiser XSW IEM EK belt pack receiver is designed to be lightweight and inconspicuous when clipped to clothing or belt. The user is able to use the included IE 4 earphones or other compatible earphone that terminate with 3.5mm jack connector. Power is via 2x AA batteries for up to six hours operation, depending on volume used.

A hinged door on the front panel allows the user to edit settings including L/R balance, Focus mode – which provides a mixable output of two mono input sources for more ‘focus’ on a particular stream; EQ – which allows the user to boost the high frequencies at 13kHz by up to 10dB; and limiting. Frequency can also be selected or fine tuned from these buttons, using the backlit LED for menu display. Radio frequency, audio frequency, battery life, channel and modes can also be viewed on the screen. Radio frequency can bet set locally or synced via infrared from the XSW IEM SR transmitter.

The top panel of the receiver has fixed whip antenna, rotary on/off/volume control, and 3.5mm headphone output. A LED illuminates green to signify connection link to transmitter. The rear of the belt pack has removable belt clip.

EVOLUTION G4 series

Sennheiser Evolution G4 IEM system is intended for those wanting to monitor stereo audio signals in professional applications such as stage or broadcasting. This range consists of a static transmitter and belt pack diversity receiver.

With the capability of using up to sixteen compatible frequencies and up to 42MHz bandwidth with multiple units, the G4 series of in-ear monitoring systems offers a choice of 1680 selectable frequencies (if location allows) within a UHF frequency range of either 606-648MHz (channel 38 ready) or 823-865MHz (channel 69/70 ready) depending on the model selected.

A HDX compander is used to increase dynamic range, pilot-tone squelch avoids RF interference when the transmitter is turned off. Easy set-up uses the receiver to perform an automatic frequency scan to search for available frequencies. Settings may be transferred between the receiver and transmitter in either direction using infra-red communication. The transmitter may be connected to an Ethernet network for configuration of multi-channel systems using software.

Transmitter and receiver are available separately or together as a complete system.


SR IEM G4 Transmitter - Fixed

The SR300 is a stereo transmitter, which can operate in mono, fed from the left audio input socket, powered by 12V DC from an included adapter. The metal half-rack, case can be rack-mounted with the included GA 3 rack mount kit.

The grey coloured front panel has a 6.35mm headphone socket, for local monitoring, with an associated volume control. A 'sync' button is used to transfer settings to a receiver, an 'ESC' button helps with menu navigation. An OLED display shows current frequency and bank, channel ID, AF level, transmission status, transmission power, equalizer setting, and input sensitivity. An auto-lock feature prevents unauthorised or accidental tampering. A jog wheel with push-button allows the user to edit any applicable settings within the menu. Sennheiser WSM control software, which may be downloaded, can be linked via an Ethernet network and compatible computer to give an overview of monitoring and data management for multi-channel systems.

The rear facing panel offers a BNC connection for aerial connection, an RJ45 connector to connect to a network and DC 12V/350mA power supply input. Two combination jack and XLR connectors provide balanced, line-level audio inputs; two 3-pole jack sockets provide loop-out connections to connect to other equipment.

EK IEM G4 Receiver - Belt pack

The EK 300 body pack receiver is designed to work with the SR IEM 300 transmitter to provide wireless audio monitoring to professionals requiring discreet and portable solution. A locking, 3.5mm, stereo jack socket can be used to connect the included IE 4 ear buds or other compatible earphones. Also positioned on the top of the belt pack receiver is a combined on/off and rotary volume control as well as a 120mm whip antenna.

The front of the pack has a backlit LC display, offering menu navigation and information such as RF signal levels, squelch threshold, transmitter modulation levels for the two audio channels, current transmission frequency, the name of the receiver, lock-mode status, battery status, mute status and whether the pilot tone is activated. An 'auto-lock function' avoids accidental changing of settings. LEDs indicate battery status and RF signal indication. The front folds down to reveal the battery compartment for 2x AA cells or a BA 2015 accupak rechargeable battery pack and the 'set' and 'escape' buttons. On the rear there is a removable metal belt-clip.

SR 2000 series

SR 2000 IEM series has been designed for professional touring, broadcast, and theatre application. Network remote control and a capability of using up to thirty-two compatible presets ensure the system can be utilised where more demanding usage is required.


SR 2050 IEM Transmitter - Rackmount

Sennheiser SR 2050 IEM is a 2-channel transmitter in a 1U 19-inch rackmount housing. It offers a 75MHz switching bandwidth that gives a choice of 3000 selectable frequencies (if location allows) within a UHF frequency range of either 606-678MHz (channel 38 ready). Of the 26 channel banks available, six are freely programmable, with up to 32 tunable channels in each in steps of 25kHz. The radio frequency (RF) output power is switchable at 10mW, 30mW, and 50mW levels. The transmitter may be connected to an Ethernet network for configuration of multi-channel systems using Sennheiser Wireless System Manager (WSM) software for PC.

The front facing panel duplicates all controls and displays for each of the two channels. A two-colour, backlit display give the user clear indication of AF and RF levels, frequency, channel name, output level, and channel. A rotary job wheel is positioned to the right of the display for easy navigation of menus and setup changes. Finally, an illuminated sync button enables the user to quickly link the transmitter to a compatible receiver such as the EK 2000 IEM. A 32ohm, 6.3mm jack headphone output with adjustable rotary volume controller allows for local signal monitoring. Each of the two transmitting channels has an independent and illuminated power/escape button.

The rear facing panel of the transmitter has a single IEC mains power input and cable grip. All other connections are duplicated across the two channels. These include dual (left and right) XLR/jack combination connectors for audio input, left and right 6.3mm jack audio loop outputs, RF output BNC connector, and RJ45 Ethernet connector.

EK 2000 IEM Receiver - Beltpack

Sennheiser EK 2000 IEM in-ear monitor receiver utilises Adaptive Diversity Technology which employs the cable from connected earphones as a secondary antenna to reduce chance of dropout.

The bodypack receiver can be powered by optional Sennheiser BA 2015 battery pack, or two AA alkaline battery cells to give 4-6 hours operation. The battery/s are put in situ behind a locking door, which in turn is positioned below a display and navigation buttons. The display shows the battery life remaining, with three bars illustrating 100% remaining, two bars illustrating 70% remaining, and a single bar illustrating 30% remaining. A red LED flashes when the battery is low. The display also shows valuable information including frequency, channel, name, mute status, RF and AF levels. A further LED signifies RF frequency reception. The menu can be navigated via two buttons located on the front facing panel. A 3.5mm headphone output is associated with a rotary headphone volume controller. The rear facing side of the receiver has a removable metal belt clamp.

IE 4

Designed for wireless monitor applications, Sennheiser IE 4 reproduces 'an outstanding sound quality and high dynamic'. The three pairs of ear sleeves, supplied, give an 'optimum fit' to different ear canals, resulting in 'high isolation against environmental noise as well as a very good bass response'.
