Terminology:
Nuts
Full: Ordinary nut
Half: Half thickness nut
Nyloc: With nylon locking collar
Special screws
Selftap: Self tapping screw
Type AB has pointed end (ISO type C)
Type B has flat end (ISO type F)
Plasform: Plasform screw (self-cuts thread in plastics)
Taptite: Taptite screw (cuts thread in metals)
Screw heads
Hex: Hexagonal
Pozi: “Pozidrive” style recess head
Slotted Slotted head
Csk: Countersunk head
Rsd. csk: Raised countersunk head
Pan: Pan head
Rnd: Round head
Fillister: Small “cheese” head, used for some connectors
Button: Rounded head with hex recess
Cap: Cheese head with hex recess
Hex: Hexagonal bolt head
Flange: Round head with flange
Materials
MS: Mild steel
HMS: Hardened mild steel
ZCP: Zinc plated, clear passivated
CB: Chemical black
BNP: Bright nickel plated
SZ: Silver/zinc plated
SC: Self-coloured (unplated)
