Canare BNC connectors are true 75 ohm types, with impedance-matched performance characteristics, suitable for HDTV, SDI (serial digital) and analogue video. They fully meet the requirements of the SMPTE424M HDTV specification, and pass DC to 1.5GHz, with >26dB return loss (1.1VSWR) except for BCP-A25F which has >20dB return loss (1.2VSWR). All Canare BNC connectors will mate mechanically with 50 ohm BNC’s.
Canare crimp tool TC-1 (stock code 55-841) should be used, with appropriate jaw set (see CANARE CRIMP TOOLS - Co-axial connectors).
Male cable types
These crimp connectors have an elongated body for better finger grip, and a gold-plated centre pin that snap locks into place. A beryllium-copper outer contact retains its shape exceptionally well, to provide reliable mating. Bodies are nickel plated, and the long crimp ferrule provides for extra cable pull-strength. Silicon rubber strain-relief bushes are also available – see CANARE STRAIN RELIEF BUSHES - For BNC, RCA (phono) and F-type connectors.
Ordering note
Canare connectors for Group Q cables are denoted as Q1, Q2 and Q3. Q1 are suitable for RG59B/U, Canare LV-61S and Belden 8241. Q2 is for Canare L-4CFB and Belden 1505A. Q3 is for Belden 1505F.
