TELEGARTNER F TYPE CONNECTORS - Male, cable - Crimp

These high-performance connectors have been developed specifically for HDTV applications, and use a gold-plated, crimp centre-contact rather than the centre conductor of the cable as is usually the case with F type connectors. They share many elements of the design of the Telegartner BNC HD connectors, and use the same centre-pin and ferrule crimp-tools. They have extremely low return-loss, and are rated to 1000 mating cycles.

The impedance-matched, gold-plated crimp centre-pin 'clicks' home into a PTFE insulator in a nickel-plated body with crimp outer sleeve ('ferrule'). Return loss is typically 35B at 3GHz.

Connectors are sold singly and in bulk packs:

Single connectors are supplied individually bagged. Bulk packs of 100 connectors are supplied in plastic compartment trays.

Optional accessories: Coloured strain reliefs are recommended for crimp types of certain sizes, see BNC strain relief bushes. Crimp tools and dies are also offered; see Crimp tools.

Crimp tooling must be the correct type for the connector and cable size. The cable, the connector and the crimp dies set must all be the same cable ‘group’.

For an explanation of the terminology used in this entry and the advantages of crimping and solder termination, as well as advice on termination procedure and choice of connectors and tooling to suit specific cables, please see the linked resources: Crimp Die Selection Chart and Coaxial Connector Selection Guide.
