LYNX YELLOBRIK FIBRE OPTIC EXTENDERS - Non-CWDM and CWDM - Analogue sync and video - 10km and 40km

The yellobrik OTX 1712 or OTX 1742 CWDM ('Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing') transmitters, combined with an ORX 1702 receiver, overcome the restrictions involved in the distribution of broadcast-quality, analogue, reference and composite-video signals over long distances. They support analogue black-burst, bi-level, tri-level sync signals and NTSC and PAL composite video, over distances up to 10km on singlemode fibre and up to 300m on multimode fibre. The devices are particularly useful for reference sync distribution between remote installations to maintain correct synchronisation.

Four non-CWDM TX and RX versions are available, based on the same yellobrik TX or RX modules. Three singlemode versions of each are suitable for LC, ST or SC fibreconnection, multimode versions with LC connections are also available. Each version is supplied with the appropriate SFP module installed.

The OTX 1742 CWDM version supports all 18 wavelengths with LC connection and is supplied without an SFP module which must be ordered separately. CWDM SFPs increase the fibre range to 40km. The CWDM version may be used in conjunction with any of the OCM series 4 or 9-channel, passive, bi-directional, optical multiplexers/demultiplexers. Please contact Technical Support for further information.

All units support 'hot swapping' and 'hot plugging' of the SFP modules and all fibre and copper inputs and outputs.

Unlike other, very basic, analogue to fibre conversion solutions, the OTX 1712, OTX 1742 and ORX 1702 incorporate technology to maintain a very high degree of sync and burst phase stability during conversion and fibre transmission. The OTX modules convert the NTSC/PAL video signals to an SDI signal (including reference and other relevant information) before it is converted to fibre. Therefore, when the OTX 1712 is used for NTSC or PAL video sources it is possible to convert the fibre signal directly to SDI if required, using an SDI receiver such as the ORX 1802.

The ORX 1702 module receives an SDI signal over fibre (including reference and other relevant information) and converts it to an analogue signal. This offers the flexibility to use the ORX 1702 if required, as a receiver of a 525 or 625 SDI video source on fibre, for instance from an OTX 1812SDI video transmitter, and convert the signal directly to an analogue NTSC or PAL composite output.

Included accessories: All Yellobrik modules are supplied each with a plug-top power supply with UK, US, Australian and European plug fittings, hook and loop mounting pads and a plastic transport case.
Optional accessories: Power adapter cables for 12V working, alternative power supplies and a rack-mounting frame for to 14 Yellobrik modules are available. Please see Lynx Yellobrik Power Supplies And Mounting Accessories.

OTX 1712 Fibre Optic Transmitters - Analogue Sync and Video

Supplied fitted with either LC, ST or SC singlemode fibre SFP modules or an LC SFP module suitable for multimode fibre. The OTX 1712 provides a passive loop-output on a BNC connector which should be terminated if not used. 'TX Active' and 'Power On' LEDs are located on the side of the module.

OTX 1742 Fibre Optic Transmitter CWDM - Analogue Sync and Video

The OTX 1742 unit allows any one of the 18 CWDM wavelengths to be used, depending on the choice of SFP module. It is supplied WITHOUT an SFP module which must be ordered separately. A passive loop output is provided on a BNC connector which should be terminated if not used. 'TX Active' and 'Power On' LEDs are located on the side of the module. Please contact Technical Support for further information.

Specifications are as the OTX 1712 except the following:

Fibre output (singlemode): 1 x LC connection
Wavelength: 18 wavelength options by choice of SFP module
Optical power: -1dBm
Maximum transmission distance: 40km (An 80km SFP module option is available, please contact Technical Support)

Note: OTX 1742 is supplied without a CWDM SFP OH-TX module, which must be selected and ordered separately. Note that there are several incompatible SFP pin connection protocols and quality and reliability varies enormously between SFP manufacturers. It is therefore recommended that only Lynx Technik SFPs are used with yellobrik modules.

OH-TX-4 CWDM SFP Modules

These are available in eighteen wavelengths according to ITU-T G.694.2. For full specifications see Lynx Yellobrik Fibre Optic SFP Modules - TX, TT and TR - CWDM.
