CLOUD MIXERS

Cloud rackmounting mixers have been designed as a solution for systems integrators whereby a product is required to be compact yet allow a number of sources to be combined into a single audio output.

MX155

A 7-input, 1U rackmountable mixer that allows the user to combine various line, microphone, and auxiliary audio sources and output via single balanced stereo output. Five primary input channels, each of which has balanced microphone input and unbalanced stereo audio input via RCA phono connections, are joined by an independent microphone channel that uses ‘VOX’ detection to allow paging use with voice-over-programme ducking. An emergency input via balanced phoenix style connector automatically mutes all other channels to conform to PA/VA regulations. An internal jumper determines whether the microphone channel should remain unmuted for announcements.

The front facing panel of the MX155 mixer features all output volume control via independent channel rotary controllers, HF (+/-10dB at 10kHz) and LF (+/-10dB at 50Hz, CH1-5; +/-10dB at 100Hz, Mic channel) EQ controllers on each input channel, and a ducking mix control. A master output rotary controller is positioned to the right of the panel with a 10-stage LED VU. A 6.3mm jack headphone socket and volume controller allows monitoring directly from the front panel, whilst a latching on/off switch and LED give easy access to powering. A 3.5mm TRS jack auxiliary audio input, with corresponding level controller, is positioned to the left of the panel. The rear facing panel of the mixer hosts all other I/O connections and input gain controls.

Mic input gain: 40dB, balanced. Line input gain: 0dB, unbalanced. Auxiliary input gain: 0dB, balanced stereo. Emergency input gain: 0dB, balanced mono. Main output level: +18dBu, balanced stereo. Record output gain: 0dBu typical, unbalanced stereo. Headphone output level: 120mW into 75ohms. Signal to noise ratio: Greater than 77dB. Crosstalk: Greater than 65dB. THD: Less than 0.1%. Frequency response: 20Hz to 20kHz, +/-3dB. Power consumption: 20W maximum. Fuse: 5 x 20mm, 500mA. Dimensions (WxHxD): 483 x 44.5 x 162.5mm. Weight: 2.3kg.

CX462

Cloud CX462 is a ‘versatile’, stereo audio mixer designed for use in installation within lecture theatres, places of worship, or training rooms. The mixer has 6x stereo line level inputs and 4x microphone inputs with the user having the ability to select and listen to one of the six music channels, and add a mix of up to four microphone channels resulting in a summed mix. Both music and microphone sections of the mixer has a dedicated balanced output; mono for the microphone section and a choice of mono/stereo for the music section. Rotary controllers on the front facing panel allow the user to blend microphone audio into the music output, and/or music into the microphone output.

The front facing panel houses all output level control including four rotary microphone input gain controls with associated master output level rotary controller and ‘add music’ rotary controller; and rotary source selection controller, level controller, and ‘add mic’ controller. 2-band EQ can be added to each individual microphone input and music source globally. EQ on the microphone channel is 150Hz LF, and 5kHz HF, both at +/-10dB; and 50Hz LF, 10kHz at +/-10dB for music channels. Switching is also present for channel priority.

The rear facing panel houses all I/O connectivity including RCA (phono) line level inputs for all music channels, and microphone input on 3-pole Phoenix style connectors. Outputs and remote access is via multi-pin Phoenix style connectors. Mains power input is by way of fused IEC connection.

Optional Cloud control plates such as RSL-6 or RL-1 can be used as remotes for the unit, and optional CDI-S100 serial interface card adds the option of RS232.

Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz, -0.5/+0dB, line inputs; 150Hz – 20kHz, -3/+0.5dB, mic input filter in; 30Hz – 20kHz, -3/+0.5dB, mic input filter out. Headroom: Greater than 20dB. Input impedance: 48kohm, line input; greater than 2kohm, balanced mic input. Dimensions (WxHxD): 482.6 x 44 x 152.5mm. Weight: 2.5kg
