These are compact, in-line, microphone preamplifiers with fixed 20dB gain, offering low noise and high performance. They are powered from P48 phantom power, which is also passed on to power the microphone. They can boost the output of a microphone at the end of a long and possibly noisy cable or raise the level of a low output microphone into a mixer or recorder that has inadequate gain.
The 'Standard' model has panel-mount type XLR connectors, mating to cable connectors. The 'Extended' model has an extended 'cable-style' female XLR connector for direct connection to a microphone and a panel type XLR male for the output.
