Canare F connectors are true 75 ohm types, with impedance-matched performance characteristics, suitable for both analogue and serial digital video (SDI). They pass DC to 2GHz, with 26dB return loss or better (1.1 VSWR approximately).
Male cable types
Most F connectors on the market utilise a coaxial cable’s solid inner conductor as the plug’s centre contact. Whilst these are widely used, are economical and are adequate for many distribution applications, professional RF and video applications warrant a better performing and more reliable connector design. The Canare F connectors feature gold crimp contact-pins that snap into place (as in BNC’s), nickel-plated brass bodies with large torque nut, and long crimp ferrules for secure cable retention. The same stripping and crimp tools are used for these as for the equivalent BNC’s. All Canare F connectors will mate with SCTE approved standard F-type sockets. Available packed singly, or in bulk tray packs of 100.
