Reusable field-termination RJ45 connectors, intended for use on-site when a fast, fully-compliant, CAT6A termination is required.
A robust, nickel-plated zinc-alloy shell houses an RJ45 connector. Available in two types: one with straight cable entry strain-relief boot; one with either a straight or a right-angled, screw-on cap, and metallic screw-on strain-relief boot, allowing cable entry to be set from four right-angled directions or a fifth straight direction.
A hinged cover on the connector body is lifted to reveal an IDC termination block. The IDC block has a removable cap with slots, where separated pairs are inserted. The cap is then returned to the main IDC block, and should be pressed into place with a parallel press tool or pliers, to ensure a complete connection. Braided shielding or drain wire should be folded back to make contact with a grounding plate at the rear of the connector, once the hinged cover is closed. For the straight-entry variant, a strain-relief boot is pushed over the rear of the connector, where a cable tie passes through an opening in the boot, and once tightened, holds the shielding and boot in place. For the right-angled variant, either the metallic strain-relief boot screws on to the hinge directly or the angled cap screws on to the rear of the hinge, then the strain-relief boot screws onto the cap. For further details see the linked resources.
Suitable for use with 6.0 - 9.0mm OD cable, with solid or stranded 22-27AWG cores (core including insulation up to 1.6mm OD).
