CANFORD WIRELESS EARPHONES

These miniature ear-canal earphones, specially made to Canford’s specifications, receive audio signals from inductive sources such as body or neck worn inductive transmitters or from inductive coils or loops installed within a building’s infrastructure (see Loop Amplifiers). The earphone profile is a generic shape (one size fits most) optimised to fit into the right ear, with left ear and custom-fits available as an option to special order. All the earphones accept a ZA10 size battery that will provide more than 12 hours use at average programme levels. Two different styles are available, which differ by the orientation of the battery. The rocker-style battery door version also functions as a switch. The vertical swing-tray models can also be supplied with a miniature volume control. All ear-canal earphones are fitted with a fish line to facilitate removal from the ear and are supplied in a small padded pouch complete with a battery set. Typical weight 1g.

ICM60 Sub-miniature wireless earphone with rocker style battery cover that also is also an on/off switch. This device is suitable for use in the left or right ear.

All ICM wireless earpieces are fitted with an advanced wax-trap system making them considerably more hygienic in use and which will prolong the life of the unit by presenting an effective, yet acoustically transparent barrier between the transducer and the human ear. Spare wax traps are available on a dial pack dispenser that also includes the removal/insertion tool.

All are supplied in a small padded wallet complete with battery. Spare batteries are also available. Optional accessories are the BS10 hygiene sheaths, which also improve the fit in the ear.

Inductor Coils

Available in styles to suit different applications, these inductors (or firing coils) radiate the audio signals that are received by inductive earpieces. The most efficient of the range is the neck worn model providing an even coverage pattern at all positions of head. The lapel and body styles should be placed within clothing on the same side as the earpiece and as close as is practically possible. These devices provide the most practical and efficient method of feeding inductively coupled earpieces when used in conjunction with radio receivers for switched talkback (IFB) functions.

Design change: Older model neck loop inductor coil ICL81 had a detachable connecting cable. For replacements, please order appropriate cable EAD91, 94 or 93 separately as required.
New model ICL81 has a fixed cable, 1 metre long, terminated with a three-pole 3.5mm jack plug. This is wired to the tip and sleeve making it suitable for connection with stereo or mono sockets.
