SP series
The Amphenol SP series loudspeaker/amplifier connectors are robust, versatile and easy to assemble.
The contacts are designed to operate with high currents and inductive loads, and to prevent any damage from arcing when disconnected under load. All contacts are touch-proof and are rated 30A RMS 133VAC.
Canford has extra-flexible loudspeaker cables, featuring unambiguous colour coded and numbered cores to correspond to the SP series terminal markings. These are MCS (2.5 sq.mm) and MCS-HD (4 sq.mm).
Cable connectors have a very robust plastic shell, with Amphenol chuck-type cable clamp, with latch release. They use slot screws, so specialist tools are not required for field installation. Maximum wire size 4mm sq. Silver plated contacts.
Panel connectors have silver plated contacts and use the 'D' series panel cutout. All panel connectors have male 4.3mm tab terminals, designed to accept 'Faston' female crimp connectors. 'Faston' crimps are a special version of the traditional tab connectors incorporating a spring latch, which permit more secure retention even in the event of vibration. 'Tab' connectors are also known as 'spade' connectors.
EP series
Professional series connectors with 4, 5, 6 and 8 pins. Latchlock coupling rated 200 volts, 20A (4 and 6-pin), 15A (other sizes). EP-13 and EP-14 are panel mounting with circular flange. Panel cutout 33.5mm (fixing centres as Neutrik “Speakon” NL4MPR/NL8MPR connectors). EP-11 and EP-12 cable types accept cables up to 16mm diameter.
AP series
Rugged plastic connectors, totally mateable with EP series. Cable connectors feature one piece latch and contact insert assembly. An enlarged cable entry and internal grubscrew cable clamping system enables easy assembly. There are no loose parts. Panel connectors are sealed, and use same panel cutout and mounting hole centres as the EP series though having rectangular flanges. The moulded plastic strain relief accepts up to 11.0mm diameter, but can be trimmed to take cables up to 17.0mm (the maximum clamp acceptance). Available in 5 pin versions.
