PSM 900 Wireless Personal Monitor System is an in ear monitoring system with patented audio reference companding, transmitter linearity, and patented CueMode functionality. The system has 20 compatible frequencies per band and a 36MHz to 40MHz tuning bandwidth.
All PSM 900 components are audio and frequency-sync compatible with PSM 1000 and vice versa (depending on tuning bandwidth). The transmitters are also compatible with the UHF-R series of radiomic receivers, so can be used for point-to point links. The two receivers use AA cells or optional SB900-B battery pack, and may be charged in the SBC200 or SBC800 charger, without removing the battery from the receiver.
Using the 'Scan and Sync' facility, a user can use a receiver to scan the RF environment and assign an identified group and channel to a system over a wireless IR link. This single receiver can be used to transfer the settings to multiple transmitters, one by one. A single receiver in 'CueMode' can be used to monitor up to twenty different mixes at the touch of a button, so an operator can hear what the performers hear. 'MixMode' offers the user the facility to adjust his own mix using controls on the belt pack. RF mute switches on the transmitters enable or disable RF transmission, allowing setup operation without disrupting the RF environment - useful for festivals and multi-venue events.
RF filtering 'significantly reduces RF interference for a cleaner, stronger RF signal, fewer dropouts, and less audible artifacts'. The linearity of the transmitters 'vastly reduce frequency intermodulation', allowing up to 20 compatible channels for the P9T and 40 compatible channels for the P10T to operate simultaneously in one frequency band. Active RF gain control avoids RF signal overload which can cause dropouts if the receiver comes too close to the transmitting antenna.
P9T - Transmitter
This has a half rack-width enclosure. The interactive menu system allows the setting of RF group, channel, frequency, RF power, stereo/mono/point-to-point (to a UHF-R receiver, which requires pilot tone) transmission, +4dBu/-10dBV input level. Utility settings include: Name of transmission (uploaded to body pack with Sync), display format and contrast, four control locking options. Sent to body pack with Sync: Body pack lock, volume limiter, stereo/mono, mixed mode/stereo mode, high frequency boost.

P9RA - Receiver
This is a body-pack or belt-pack receiver, with an external whip antenna and a belt clip. The interactive menu system allows the setting of RF group, channel, and frequency. Stereo/Mixmode audio, HF audio boost, level limit value. Utility settings include: CueMode on off, display format and contrast, panel lock. CueMode mixes can be replaced or deleted.
The upper panel houses a power switch/volume rotary control, 3.5mm stereo jack earphone socket, blue RF received and tri-coloured battery indicators and antenna with SMA connector.
The front panel has an LCD display to show status and menu operation, as well as up/down navigation buttons.
Inside the battery compartment there are enter and exit buttons, sync IR window, scan button and space for 2x AA batteries or battery pack.
A belt clip is positioned on the rear of the receiver.
