Mackie say of the VLZ4 series 'extremely comprehensive, offering mixers of every channel count, every price point, for every application' and while 'every application' may be stretching a point, one of these general-purpose mixers will be appropriate for a large number of applications, particularly those involving live sound rather than broadcasting or location recording. They have a practical set of features, and solid construction. All but the two smallest models have built-in power supplies.
