GLENSOUND AUDIO INTERFACES - Dante/Ravenna

A range of analogue/AES3 to Dante/AES67 and Dante/AES67 to analogue/AES3 interfaces from Glensound. These interfaces are designed to be used in broadcast audio and recording studios whereby a reliable and high quality end product is required. The AES3 interfaces have been designed for use in outside broadcast, theatre, and location applications, where interfacing between AES3 and Dante/AES67 is required.

AoIP2M - 2x Microphone to Dante

AoIP22u - 2x RCA (phono) I/O to Dante

AoIP22 MKII - 2x Analogue I/O to Dante

AoIP22M - 2x Analogue I/O to Dante, with mic preamp and HPF

AoIP22M has been designed for broadcast, theatre and location applications. It can be used as a two-input, two-output device between analogue audio and Dante/AES67 network audio. AoIP22M can also be used as a 2-channel mic amp into Dante/AES67 with two analogue return channels from the network. The unit can be powered via PoE or via USB C.

The two analogue inputs are on XLR connections and can be switched independently between mic or line level. 48v phantom power can be selected separately per input, and is indicated as active on the front panel. Each input has the gain adjust on a small, spring loaded pot. Pushing it in releases it into the adjust position, and when the level is set, it can be pushed back flush to the front panel to avoid accidental adjustment. Each input has a three colour, 7-stage LED PPM meter to aid the setting of input gain level. Output levels can be set with different firmware to be -18dBfs, -20dBfs, or -24dBfs. AoIP22M is digitally controlled, allowing additional functionality that can be easily selected with the front panel switches. The switch function is detailed on the top panel as shown above.

A high pass filter is selectable on each input channel and can be set at 20Hz, 30Hz or 60Hz. This is particularly useful when the AoIP22M is being used as a mic amp as it reduces the audio level below the filter point. The unit also incorporates three compressor settings (Off/Soft/Hard) to allow the user to apply up to 4:1 ratio.

The output of each mic amp can be separately selected in two modes of operation: Mic In: In this mode the output is the line level of the mic input. In other words, the channel is operating as a normal analogue microphone amplifier; Dante: In this mode the output is the line level return audio from the Dante network. AoIP22M uses Neutrik Halo EtherCON connector for the network connection. This is standard XLR size and allows the connection of standard RJ45 network cables, as well as the more secure locking EtherCON plugs. The outer ring of the EtherCON shows power and data traffic via its LED ring, without the need for separate LED indicator lights.

Audio: Frequency response: 27Hz - 22kHz. Mic input gain range: 25-68dB. Phantom power: +48V. Equivalent input noise: 123.9dBu. High pass filter: 27/43/86Hz switchable.

Network audio: Compatible audio networks: Dante Ultimo, AES67. Network connection: Neutrik RJ45 EtherCON. Transfer rate: 100Mbps. Dante network sample rate: 44.1/48/88.2/96k. AES67 network sample rate: 48k.

Optional SFP Modules

Dante/SFPS is a single-mode module and Dante/SFPM is multi-mode. Dante/SFP1 and Dante/SFP2 are for use over distances up to 10km and are WDM (wavelength-division multiplexing) types, a multiplexing technology which can be used to enable bi-directional communication over a single fibre. Dante/SFP1 should be used in a pair with SFP2 Dante breakout boxes: See Dante interfaces.
