WCM16 Hypercardioid Headworn Condenser Microphone

The Shure Model WCM16 headworn electret condenser microphone is intended for wireless use by performers, lecturers, and others who require the highest quality voice pickup with maximum mobility. Its wide frequency response, low RF susceptibility and reliable operation at temperature and humidity extremes make the WCM16 suitable for virtually any vocal application. When used with the Shure bodypack transmitters, the performance of the WCM16 closely resembles the finest conventional vocal microphones.

Miniaturized active circuitry included in the cartridge assembly provides equalization that tailors the low-frequency response to resemble the warmproximity effect of larger vocal microphones. Because of this low-end response, it is not necessary to position the microphone directly in front of the mouth, thus avoiding much popping and breath noise, even without the supplied foam pop screen.

The microphone's hypercardioid unidirectional pickup pattern provides maximum isolation from ambient noise and from adjacent sound sources such as musical instruments, loudspeakers and other performers. This permits higher gain-before-feedback without loss or masking of vocals.

It is also 'ideal for singing drummers, keyboard artists, and other performers who need a head-worn vocal microphone with superior noise rejection and a smooth, natural-sounding frequency response'.

SM31FH-TQG

Designed for fitness, aerobic and other uses in humid environments, the SM31FH-TQG is a lightweight headset microphone with 'moisture-repelling' hydrophobic properties. The cardioid condenser microphone capsule is positioned at the end of a flexible gooseneck on the left side of the headset. Terminated with TA4F (4-pin mini XLR) connector it requires 5V DC nominal, 10V maximum, phantom power.

SM35-XLR, SM35-TQG

The SM35-XLR headset microphone has been designed to offer 'hands-free performance for multi-instrumentalists'. The 'tight' cardioid condenser capsule gives a high level of feedback rejection and is popular among users who use stage monitors. A 'tailored' frequency response of 40Hz - 20kHz and a sensitivity of -59dBV/Pa - 1.10mV/Pa results in a 'clear, and crisp vocal reproduction'. It is terminated with a 3-pin male XLR connector. The SM35-TQG has the same audio properties but is fitted with a miniature, 4-pin, female connector (TA4F) for direct connection to Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

WH Series

WH20-XLR, WH20-TQG

The WH20-XLR is a 'rugged, lightweight, dynamic headset microphone that provides high-quality voice pickup'. It fits securely for active microphone users, such as aerobics instructors and musicians, with low visibility for stage appearances. Suitable for 'any voice communications application where comfort and reliability are required', it has a cardioid (unidirectional) pickup pattern and a 'carefully shaped frequency response includes a voice-frequency presence peak and a low-frequency rolloff'. It has a 3-pin male XLR connector with a detachable belt clip. The WH20-TQG is similar, fitted with a miniature, 4-pin, female connector for direct connection to Shure wireless bodypack transmitters.

BETA Series

These condenser microphones use the same element as TwinPlex miniature microphones, see SHURE MICROPHONES - Miniature however they are combined with an ‘ultra-light’ adjustable headset frame.

TwinPlex TH53 headset microphones are available in a variety of colours and with various terminations including LEMO, TA4F, MicroDot, or bare wire (unterminated). Users can replace most parts of the headset individually, including replacement boom, headset frame, earhook sleeves, cable flex etc. Please contact our Sales team for more information.

TH53

Requiring 5VDC phantom power, this dual-diaphragm condenser microphone has a low sensitivity of -45dBv (5.62mV), along with a high maximum SPL of 142dB and a dynamic range of 117.5dB. The dual-diaphragm design increases the surface area, which in turn gives ‘robust low frequency response’, gives a natural response for voice pickup, and offers low self-noise of 24.5dB equivalent.

The pre-polarised condenser capsule is housed in a moulded ABS housing giving a diameter of 5.6mm and length of 13.5mm. The 1.6m (length), 1.1mm (diameter) cable has a single, medical-grade, spiralling conductor which aids flexibility and durability. The cable is paintable and is also ‘immune to memory effects and kinks’. The included and interchangeable frequency caps are moisture and sweat-resistant thanks to their ‘superhydrophobic nanoscopic’ coating.

Frequency response: 20Hz – 20kHz. Sensitivity: -45 dBV, 1kHz. Signal to noise: 69.5dB. Output clipping level: 3dBV, 1kHz, 1% THD typical. Self noise: 24.5dB SPL-A. Maximum SPL: 142dB SPL, 1kHz at 1% THD typical. Dynamic range: 117.5dB. Current draw: 120 - 240 microamps, typical. Bias voltage: 5 VDC. Weight: 12g, boom arm with cable; 6g, headset frame.
