DENON MEDIA PLAYERS - With CD

All models in this selection have front-loading slots for CD playback. They can be mounted in a 19-inch rack by using the included rack brackets or used free-standing without the brackets. USB media connections are also included so that audio may be played back from either USB flash media or external mass storage.


DN-300C MKII

This is a 1U media player intended for use in commercial audio installations such as retail, hotel, conference and education. It combines a slot-loading CD player and USB connection for direct playback from a USB thumb drive. A 3.5mm auxiliary input is also available for the connection of other audio devices.

Ten direct track-access buttons make for simple and quick track selection and playback. Global transport controls (play/pause, stop, and search) and a LCD screen ensure intuitive operation.

The slot-loading CD drive is compatible with CD-DA, CD-ROM, CD-R, MP3-CD, with MP3 files from 32 to 320kbps and VBR bit-rate supported. The output is via balanced 3-pin male XLR connectors and unbalanced RCA (phono) sockets.

USB drive compatibility: Up to 32GB (maximum file size 2GB). Power source: 230V AC, 50/60Hz, 30W. Dimensions (w x d x h): 483 x 347 x 44mm, with rack brackets; 434 x 347 x 44mm, without rack brackets. Weight: 3.6kg.


DN-300Z - With AM/FM Tuner - Bluetooth

The Denon DN-300Z, often referred to as the DN-300ZB due to the inclusion of balanced 3-pin XLR audio outputs, is a 1U music source intended for commercial audio installations such as education, houses of worship, leisure facilities and dance studios. It combines a CD player, USB and SD/SDHC media player with AM/FM tuner and Bluetooth receiver for wireless playback of audio content stored on mobile devices and computers.

A simple menu structure, global transport controls (play/pause, stop and search), 10-key, direct, CD track-access and a backlit LCD screen ensure intuitive operation.

The slot-loading CD drive and solid-state media ports are compatible with CD-DA, MP3, WAV and AAC file formats. During wireless playback via Bluetooth the DN-300Z is compatible with SBC, MP3, AAC and aptX formats.

A 3.5mm auxiliary input allows for the connection and audio playback from other wired devices.

Balanced (L/R) output is via 3-pin male XLR connectors. Unbalanced output is via two sets of RCA phono sockets. The AM/FM tuner on one and the CD, USB, SD, Bluetooth and AUX combined on the second.


DN-500CB - Bluetooth

The DN-500CB has been designed to facilitate the use of external media devices via Bluetooth or via 3.5mm jack auxiliary input, as well as the ability to play direct from slot loading CD and USB media. Up to eight Bluetooth devices can be stored in memory slots.

The rear panel houses left and right balanced, 3-pin XLR outputs, dual RCA (phono) unbalanced outputs, the Bluetooth receiver and RS232c remote connection. An IEC inlet for AC mains power is positioned on the right side of the rear panel.

The power on/off button is positioned on the front panel along with front loading CD slot, 3.5mm jack auxiliary input, and USB media input. A rotary/push-to-enter control aids navigation through the on-display menu; a second rotary/push button allows the user to adjust pitch control and tempo. Forward and reverse search buttons, stop, and play/pause complete the transport section. Ten preset buttons allow direct track selection, with a further six buttons allowing the user to select source, repeat/power-on play, randomise, display time/access folder, display text/lock unit, and eject CD.

DN-501C - Digital outputs

This broadcast-grade, 1U rack-mounting CD and USB media player has both balanced and unbalanced analogue outputs as well as S/P-Dif and AES/EBU digital outputs and is intended for broadcast and other professional use. As well as the ability to import (or 'rip') data from CD to an attached USB storage device as a WAV file, additional audio file formats such as MP3, AAC and AIFF can be replayed as well as CD-DA. Other functions include connection via USB of an iPhone or iPod, allowing for digital playback of an iTunes library, and the ability to work with the free Denon Professional 'Pitch Key' app (available on the Apple AppStore) to allow control of playback by adjusting pitch, tempo or both of any audio file in the device.

The front panel has a blue, multi-function, OLED display, showing time and track data and other disc information. Transport controls are 'Play', 'Pause', 'Stop' and 'Forward' and 'Rewind'. There are also buttons for 'Cue', and 'Media' which switches between media types, 'Trk.No.' which allows tracks to be selected directly, 'Frame' which allows a frame search mode and starts 'Audible Pause' (allowing frame by frame reviewing of the audio in an audible state). Alternative functions of these buttons, by holding the 'Shift' button, include 'List' (displays media file list), 'Hot Set' (sets Hotstart tracks) and 'Pitch' button enables vari-speed mode, the speed being adjusted by the 'Shift', Forward and Rewind buttons to set to +/- 16% (2 semitones) of nominal in 0.1% increments. A second group of buttons include 'Lock' allowing full or partial button locking, 'Menu' selection, 'Text' display, an 'A-B' button which sets up loop-start and end points and 'Single/Cont.', which selects continuous or repeat play. There is a 6.35mm 3-pole jack socket for headphones, with a level control, and a large, power button with bi-colour LED, which can also be locked.

Connectivity, on the rear of the unit consists of left and right unbalanced RCA (phono) outputs, balanced left and right 3-pin XLR male outputs, digital AES/EBU outputs on S/PDIF (IEC-958 Type II) from an RCA (phono) socket and AES/EBU on an XLR male. Trim control is available on the front panel by holding Shift and rotating the jog dial. Other connections include a 25-pin female D-Sub connector and a 9-pin female D-Sub RS-232C serial remote control port that is able to transmit CD Text, ISO and ISRC codes, track-time and number and other data.

DN-700CB - Bluetooth and Network capable

DN-700CB is designed for use in professional applications including broadcasting, this versatile media player has an embedded web server offering a graphical interface to networked computers. Media may be played from a slot-loading CD drive, via Bluetooth connected media player, or by mass-storage devices, including some iPod and iPhone models, via the USB socket on the front panel. Audio may also be streamed over a network from media servers, NAS devices and personal computers using DLNA and UPnP. In addition to network control it has wireless infra-red, wired contact-closure and RS232C remote control.

The 'Web-Remote' interface allows a user 'full control of the DN-700CB from menu setup to transport control and hot start playback, even from mobile browsers' when the DN-700CB is connected to a suitably configured Ethernet network - connection to a network will require a cable, see RJ45 Patchcords. Denon Product Manager software is included, for 'single point control of multiple players from a computer over the network'.

The front panel has a transport control section and a display for status and menu information. A push-to-enter jog wheel moves between tracks and adjusts output level. Ten track selection buttons provide direct access to specific audio files, with further buttons providing access to panel-locking, the main menu, repeat A-B playback, and single or continuous play functions. Other buttons include fast forward and fast reverse, tempo control, source, pairing, and random playback. The rear has XLR connectors for the stereo balanced outputs, a pair of RCA (phono) types for unbalanced audio, and a 9-pin RS232C remote control. An RJ45 socket connects to the network. Power is connected through an IEC inlet.
