SENNHEISER HEADSETS

All the models in this selection of Sennheiser headsets are intended for professional use and have dynamic earphones. They include designs with dynamic microphones tailored for communications environments as well as dynamic and electret microphones designed specifically for use in broadcasting applications.

HMD 300, HMD 300 X3K1, HMD 300-S

These broadcast headsets are said to offer ‘clear communication, even in high-volume backstage environments’. The closed circumaural design provides a frequency response of 60Hz to 25kHz whilst Sennheiser’s ‘ActiveGard’ limiting technology prevents sudden bursts of high level audio. The hypercardioid, dynamic boom microphone can rotated such that it can be worn on either left or right side, while the split headband alleviates pressure for long-term use.

HMD 26, HMD 26-S

Designed primarily for outside broadcasters, HMD 26 features a hypercardioid, dynamic microphone with supra-aural, closed-back earphones. Commonly used for outdoor TV or radio applications, the headset features Sennheiser’s ActiveGard limiting technology with three switchable attenuation settings to prioritize isolation, noise reduction, and hearing protection. The shock-mounted microphone capsule has a frequency response of 40Hz - 20kHz and delivers ‘excellent acoustic performance’ whilst absorbing structure-born noise.

HME 26, HME 26-S

Like HMD 26, HME 26 has been designed primarily for outside broadcasters and features the same supra-aural, closed-back headphones but with accompanying pre-polarized condenser microphone capsule as opposed to dynamic. The headset features Sennheiser’s ActiveGard limiting technology with three switchable attenuation settings to prioritize isolation, noise reduction, and hearing protection. The shock-mounted microphone capsule has a frequency response of 40Hz - 20kHz and delivers ‘excellent acoustic performance’ whilst absorbing structure-born noise.

HMD 27

HMD 27 has been tailored for use for commentators, audio engineers, or those who require ‘the highest levels of audio performance’. The headset has a closed, circumaural earpiece design that features Sennheiser’s ActiveGard limiting technology with three-step switchable attenuation. This inbuilt limiting technology protects the user from sharp spikes in audio volume. The dynamic microphone capsule has a hypercardioid pickup pattern and a frequency response of 40Hz to 18kHz. The headset’s lightweight build, soft earpads, and two-piece headband provide a more comfortable wear for prolonged periods of use. This headset is supplied without cable and therefore one of the optional cables listed is required for use.

HMDC 27

HMDC 27 has the same feature set as HMD 27, however HMDC has a greater impedance of 130ohms, features ActiveGard limiting technology for protection from noise peaks greater than 110dB, and switchable NoiseGard technology that increases intelligibility and reduces noise by an additional 15dB for operation in the noisiest environments.

This headset is supplied without cable and therefore one of the optional cables listed is required for use.

Like HMD 27, HME 27 has been designed primarily for commentators and audio engineers, however in place of the dynamic microphone capsule, HME 27 houses a pre-polarized condenser microphone capsule that requires +48V phantom power. HME 27 also has ActiveGard with three-step switchable attenuation.

HMD 46

HMD 46 headset has been designed for use in broadcasting and intercom communication applications. The lightweight, open-back headsets have a frequency range of 16Hz - 20kHz and a patented two-piece automatic headband and soft ear pad design. The microphone, with passive noise reduction, is positioned on a rotating boom arm that allows for use on either left or right side. The headset has a single-sided cable entry. This headset is supplied without cable and therefore one of the optional cables listed is required for use. For spare earpads see 56-4150 (587971).

HME 46 has the same properties as HMD 46, however in place of the dynamic microphone HME 46 has a pre-polarized condenser capsule for noise cancelling, close-talking pickup. This headset is supplied without cable and therefore one of the optional cables listed is required for use. For spare earpads see 56-4150 (587971).

With 3-pin male XLR and 6.3mm jack plug connections with gold plated contacts. Compatible with the HMD 300 PRO, HMD 301 PRO, HMD/HME 26-II and the HMD/HME 27 PRO

CABLE-II-X4F (505784)

A 2m, straight copper cable with coiled segment to help reduce structure born noise. The cable is compatible with HMD 300 PRO, HMD 301 PRO, HMD 26-II, HME 26-II, and HMD 27. The cable is not compatible with HME 26-II-P48 nor HME 27 or HMDC 27 due to the integrated P48 amplifier within the earcup. Terminated with 4-pin female XLR connector.

CABLE-II-X5 (505785)

A 2m, straight copper cable with coiled segment to help reduce structure born noise. The cable is compatible with HMD 300 PRO, HMD 301 PRO, HMD 26-II, HME 26-II, and HMD 27. The cable is not compatible with HME 26-II-P48 nor HME 27 or HMDC 27 due to the integrated P48 amplifier within the earcup. Terminated with 5-pin male XLR connector.

CABLE-II-6 (508545)

A 1.85m, straight copper cable with coiled segment to help reduce structure born noise. The cable is compatible with HMD 300 PRO, HMD 301 PRO, HMD 26-II, HME 26-II, HMD 46-3, and HMD 46-31. The cable is also compatible with HME 26-II-P48, HMD 27, HMDC 27, and HME 27 when used with a P48 power supply. 508545 is supplied unterminated, however 508545X4 version is the same cable but terminated with 4-pin females XLR connector.

CABLE-II-8 (505797)

A 2m, straight copper cable with coiled segment to help reduce structure born noise. The cable is compatible with HMD 300 PRO, HMD 301 PRO, HMD 26-II, and HME 26-II. The cable is also compatible with HME 26-II-P48, HMD 27, HMDC 27, and HME 27 when used with a P48 power supply. 505797 is supplied unterminated.
