TOA CEILING SPEAKERS - Wide dispersion

Designed to ‘blend’ into the ceiling, this range has smooth, low-profile design, and extended dispersion to give reduced high-frequency attenuation when off the main axis of the speaker, for reduced ‘beaming’ and better balanced reproduction and hence clarity.

All the models are natively eight ohms impedance, but are fitted with a transformer to provide 16 ohm and high impedance 70/100V line connections. The impedance/power setting can be achieved from below the speaker after it is fitted in the ceiling; the grille is removed with a twist, revealing the face of the speaker with a rotary selection switch. Baffles and rims are fire-resistant ABS, the grilles are punched steel plate, finished in white.

F-1522SC, F-2352SC

Intended for use in ceilings from two to four metres high, these have no back-box, but are fitted with a dust-proof bag. The terminals are of the push-in type, with extra terminals for looping connections to the next speaker. Can be used with HY-BC1 back can.
The F-1522SC is a compact model with a 100mm cone, designed for low output applications. Power taps: 6W, 3W (100V line); 6W, 3W, 1.5W (70V line).
The F-2352SC is cost-effective, has a dome tweeter (with diffuser) and 120mm cone. Power taps: 6W, 3W, 1W, 0.5W (100V line); 6W, 3W, 1.5W, 0.5W, 0.25W (70V line).

F-2322C, F-2352C

Bass-reflex types, with integral back-box meeting heat-resistant specifications, intended for ceilings two to four metres high. Terminals are ‘Phoenix-style’ removable screw-terminal connectors with extra terminals to feed out to the next speaker.
The F-2322C is a cost-effective, full range device, with a single 120mm cone, suitable for most applications. Power taps: 30W, 10W, 3W, 1W (100V line); 30W, 15W, 5W, 1.5W, 0.5W (70V line).
The F-2352C is a two-way system, with 120mm cone, dome tweeter, and diffuser to aid dispersion of high frequencies. Power taps: 30W, 10W, 3W, 1W (100V line); 30W, 15W, 5W, 1.5W, 0.5W (70V line).

F-2852C

A bass-reflex unit, with integral back-can meeting heat-resistant specifications, the F-2852C is a high power, full range device, with a 160mm cone and dome tweeter, intended for use in locations with higher ceilings, in the range of three to six metres. It has a diffuser to increase dispersion of high frequencies. Terminals are ‘Phoenix-style’ removable screw-terminal connectors with extra terminals to feed out to the next speaker. Power taps: 60W, 30W, 15W, 3W (100V line); 60W, 30W, 15W, 7.5W, 1.5W (70V line).

Accessories

HY-AH1 Anchor Hanging Bracket

A yoke bracket to suspend speakers from an anchor bolt, to avoid the full weight of the speaker being applied directly to a ceiling panel. It works in conjunction with the hardware supplied with the speaker. Plated steel. 700g.

HY-BC1 Back Can

A metal can for attachment to the ceiling speakers to present a better appearance when they are mounted in view, thus forming a pendant speaker. It has a central ‘knockout’ hole to match 20mm/28mm pipes, from which it is usually hung, and a further two 20mm ‘knockout’s . Steel plate, black paint, 1.5kg. Fits F-2352SC, F-2322C, F-2352C.

HY-TB1 Tile-Bar Bridge

Working with the hardware supplied with the speaker, this is a pair of bars which transfer the weight of the speaker from the ceiling panel to the ceiling grid. Plated steel, 603mm long, 500g per pair.

HY-TR1 Trim Ring

A cosmetic ring which will allow the installation of 200mm mounting speakers into holes which are oversized, up to 300mm diameter.

Technical Note:

An ideal ceiling loudspeaker would radiate all frequencies at an equal level, regardless of the angle off-axis. Unfortunately there is no such thing as an ideal ceiling speaker. This series of speakers approach the ideal more than many, with the consequent benefit that speakers may be more widely spaced for equivalent performance, or alternatively, if spaced the same as more conventional models, will give improved sound quality and hence clarity of announcements and music.
