A range of pre amplifiers from ART for use in the home studio, as portable devices, or in live music playback.
ART USB Dual Pre is a portable, dual preamplifier and computer interface housed in a compact rugged case. It is designed to work over a wide variety of applications from remote field recording to desktop/studio tracking. Each of the two low noise input channels has up to 48dB of clean gain with signal present and clip LED indicators. Inputs can be either balanced 3-pin XLR or 6.35mm TRS jack. Each of the 6.35mm TRS outputs is buffered low impedance balanced.
Powered via the USB bus, however an internal 9V battery or optional external 12V power supply (or any combination of USB, battery and power supply) can be used depending on application. When running powered by battery alone, you should expect in excess of 50 hours of operation with phantom power off. Battery life will drop to approximately 20 hours (microphone dependant) when phantom powering is engaged. The built-in +48 Volt phantom power supply allows you to power up to two microphones as well as the preamplifier when running from any power sources including the USB bus.
For monitoring, a 3.5mm TRS mini headphone jack with level and monitor mix controls on the rear allow for latency-free local monitoring of the inputs while recording, as well as playback monitoring of the USB bus. The monitor mix is also routed to the 6.35mm TRS jack balanced outputs. This lets you use the outputs as either preamplifier outputs or as the monitor feed powered monitors. The USB interface is fully compliant with USB 1.1 specification and uses USB adaptive mode for playback and USB asynchronous mode for record. It will work with the USB audio device drivers built into Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP/Vista and Apple OS9.1/OSX computers with native USB support. No special drivers are needed.

ART Precision Phono Preamp for those seeking to connect their turntable to PA or stereo. This standalone phono preamp interfaces both types of turntable cartridges moving coil (MC) and moving magnet (MM) to a wide variety of audio systems.
Precision Phono Preamp’s ‘extraordinarily low noise amplifier’ allows connection to MC cartridges without picking up noise or distortion that transformers can exhibit. The audio is kept pristine with a low-cut filter to remove rumble and low frequency feedback, commonly undesirable for DJs and home use.
Analog inputs on the ART Precision Phono Preamp are switchable between moving magnet and moving coil. The unit changes both the gain and the cartridge loading to suit the selected cartridge. The front gain trim control with the signal present/clip LED allows the user to optimize the output for a wide range of cartridges.
