SONIFEX RB-SP1 DIGITAL SPLITTER AND COMBINER 1U rackmount

A 1U rack-mounting unit for interfacing legacy 48 kHz double-sampled, digital audio streams to modern 96 kHz studio systems. The Split 96 technique was used on early digital recording equipment, and used pairs of 48 kHz connections that carried identical sample values in both channels of a stereo stream, in effect, a double sampled mono feed. The RB-SP1 can also operate as a digital mono/stereo splitter or combiner, so a stereo signal may be split into two mono signals and two mono signals converted to a stereo signal, all at the same sample rate. Finally, a bypass mode passes the two inputs to the outputs but output 2 is re-sampled to synchronise with output 1, even if the sample rates are different.
Inputs and outputs are presented on balanced XLR 3 AES/EBU and unbalanced RCA (phono) SPDIF connectors at the rear. The choice of input or output connection is selectable from the rear panel.

Can be used with the RB-RK2 (1U) rear-panel kit to reverse mount the unit in a 19" rack.
