HMD 27 has been tailored for use for commentators, audio engineers, or those who require ‘the highest levels of audio performance’. The headset has a closed, circumaural earpiece design that features Sennheiser’s ActiveGard limiting technology with three-step switchable attenuation. This inbuilt limiting technology protects the user from sharp spikes in audio volume. The dynamic microphone capsule has a hypercardioid pickup pattern and a frequency response of 40Hz to 18kHz. HMDC 27 has the same feature set as HMD 27, however HMDC has a greater impedance of 130ohms, features ActiveGard limiting technology for protection from noise peaks greater than 110dB, and switchable NoiseGard technology that increases intelligibility and reduces noise by an additional 15dB for operation in the noisiest environments.
