TouchControl 5
This table-top, Dante based monitor controller has been designed to offer user customizable setup for speaker calibration, SPL measurement and bass management. The controller also has metering section with loudness, and offers independent levelling and talkback. With support for up to 32x Dante I/O channels, and the ability to control channel formats from stereo to 22.2 - including 5.1 and 7.1 surround as well as 7.1.4 and 9.1.6 immersive; TouchControl 5 is a tool that can be employed in most studio environments. TouchControl 5 supports international loudness standards including EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-4/1771-1, ATSC A/85, ARIB, OP-59, AGCOM, CALM, LEQ(M), TASA and SAWA.
TouchControl 5 has a 5-inch intuitive touchscreen to allow the user to control, monitor, and adjust downmix, multiple speaker sets, calibrated monitoring, SPL, solo, cut, phase, mute, and bass management with up to two LFE channels with adjustable crossover frequencies. Additional the user has access to a DSP section with delay, gain and 4-band EQ on a per speaker level. A source compare feature lets the user toggle between sources for easy comparison and allows adjustment of individual delays for each of the sources. A monitor page displays an SPL meter to show the measured sound pressure level in the room. This can be set to display as bar graph or as number, or both. A talkback feature allows the engineer to talk to speakers or any destination in your Dante network.
The PPM metering engine is taken from RTW's TouchMonitor meters, allowing a number of ways to tailor a unique metering experience including scales, colour settings and more. True Peak metering, along with VU and ‘British PPM’ is also accessible.
The main panel of the controller features a 5-inch, 16:9 touch display, fixed calibrated microphone, and rotary controller that allows user-definable key functionality. The rear facing panel houses all I/O connectivity including AoIP and PoE on RJ-45 Ethernet connector, 3-pin XLR input with +48V phantom power for microphone, a 6.35mm headphone jack output, and an single 3.5mm stereo jack output for analogue audio monitoring.
When connected to a web-based interface via Dante AoIP network and using the WebApp user interface, the user able to make the general settings, create and manage up to 31 user presets, and configure screen views. It also allows control access and restrictions to the device or certain functions to prevent unwanted use.
