NEUTRIK NPPA-TT-IDC Bantam jackfield

This design of jackfield uses a modular jack socket pair which has normalling set by jumper bars within the module. Contacts are gold plated, and have a similar design to that of the traditional long-frame bantam socket, for high contact integrity and long life. The modules can be removed from the front to permit replacement or normalling re-configuration (as standard they are supplied half-normalled). The front panel has a centre designation strip numbered 1-48, plus two large designation strips with plastic covers above and below the rows of jacks. Suitable labelling software can be downloaded free from www.neutrik.com.

A choice of grounding (individual, grouped or common) is selected by jumpers on the rear PCB. Wiring to the jackfield can be by one of five termination options - spring-loaded push terminals, Krone-type IDC blocks, solder pads, EDAC 56-way or 12 x D-sub 25-pin female (wired to DTRS standard) multipin connectors. Spring loaded terminals accept stranded wires from 0.08mm sq. to 0.5mm sq., and solid wires up to 0.75mm sq., with insulation stripped back 6mm. Note that since the screen connections are separated, it is perfectly feasible to wire the jackfield with cables such as Canford FST without sleeving the drain wire. The jackfield is supplied as standard with two lacing bars, but an additional strain relief bar NPPA-S is available for use with large and heavy cable bundles.
