VP83 LensHopper
This electret condenser, shotgun style microphone features a tight supercardioid/lobar pickup pattern and as a by-product rejects unwanted, off-axis noise. The microphone is mounted on an integrated lyre shockmount, designed by Rycote, to reduce handling noise caused by vibrations. The suspension is in turn mounted on a standard size cold shoe adapter with 0.25 inch threaded base.
The rear facing panel of the microphone has controls to enable to application of low-cut filter, along with a three-position switch to alter the input gain between -10dB, 0dB, and +20dB. The microphone is powered by single alkaline AA battery cell, which offers up to 130 hours of use. NiMH and rechargeable lithium-ion batteries can also be used. The attached coiled cable is terminated with balanced 3.5mm jack.

VP83F LensHopper with flash recording
Like the VP83, this shotgun style, electret condenser microphone features a tight supercardioid/lobar pickup pattern, however the main feature of the VP83F is the on-board flash recorder, which enables the user to record .WAV files up to 64 hours of audio on a 32GB microSD card. Smaller capacity microSD cards can be used giving 8 hours of recording for 4GB card, 16 hours on an 8GB card, and 32 hours on a 16GB card. The microphone is mounted on an integrated lyre shockmount, designed by Rycote, to reduce handling noise caused by vibrations. The suspension is in turn mounted on a standard size cold shoe adapter with 0.25 inch threaded base.
The rear facing panel of the microphone has controls including power button, multi-operation record button, and five-position joystick to enable navigation of the on-screen menus. The display also shows important information including track name, headphone volume, remaining record time, battery meter, audio meter, and low-cut filter – which can be applied at 170Hz roll-off.
The microphone is powered by two alkaline AA battery cells, which offer up to 10.5 hours of use when passing audio, or 9.5 hours when recording. NiMH batteries can also be used, giving up to 15 hours and 12 hours for passing audio and recording respectively, whilst lithium-ion batteries give up to 22.5 hours and 17.5 hours. The detachable coiled cable is terminated with TRS 3.5mm jacks. A 3.5mm jack headphone output is provided for direct monitoring.
