Breaking out headset cables to separate mic and ear loudspeaker connectors has always been one of the more difficult problems besetting audio engineers. This “Y-split” cable has been manufactured specifically to give a simple and reliable solution. It consists of a rugged, polyurethane jacketed special composite cable which includes both screened balanced microphone (two cores, drain wire and braid screen) and stereo/split-feed ear loudspeaker wiring. A durable over-moulded “Y-split” junction with individual strain reliefs for all cable entries connects to individual tails for balanced microphone input and ear loudspeaker feeds.
All versions have the same dimensions - 2 metres of 4.5mm diameter composite cable from the Y-split junction to the headset connection point, and two 200mm tails of 3.5m cable from the Y-split junction for microphone and ear loudspeaker connections, with bare ends at the headset end, and a variety of connector combinations at the equipment interface end. The 3.5mm 3-pole plugs have an over-moulded cover with integral strain relief and finger grips. Other connector combinations can be manufactured to special order.
