GLENSOUND AUDIO INTERFACES - Dante/Ravenna

A range of analogue/AES3 to Dante/AES67 and Dante/AES67 to analogue/AES3 interfaces from Glensound. These interfaces are designed to be used in broadcast audio and recording studios whereby a reliable and high quality end product is required. The AES3 interfaces have been designed for use in outside broadcast, theatre, and location applications, where interfacing between AES3 and Dante/AES67 is required.

GTM - Dante to headphone/headset

AoIP22u - 2x RCA (phono) I/O to Dante

AoIP22 - 2x Analogue I/O to Dante

AoIP22 AES3 - 1x AES3 I/O to Dante

AoIP2M - 2x Microphone to Dante

AoIP44 AES3 - 2x AES3 I/O to Dante

Like the AoIP22 AES3, AoIP44 AES3 is designed to easily and quickly interface existing AES3 equipment to a Dante/AES67 network audio system. PoE means that only one cable needs to be connected to the network to carry both audio and power, providing flexibility and saving time on installation. AoIP44 AES3 provides 2 balanced AES3 audio circuit on and off the Dante/AES67 audio network.

The front facing panel of the AoIP44 AES3 has two 3-pin XLR inputs that can accept sample frequencies from 32 to 192kHz. When operating a single AES3 output the AoIP44 AES3 can support sampling up to 96kHz; when operating two AES3 outputs the AoIP44 AES3 can support sampling up to 48kHz. The Front panel also houses two 3-pin XLR outputs. The AES outputs are synchronised to the network audio sample rate and as such the clock follows the Dante/AES67 circuits.

The rear facing panel of the AoIP44 AES3 a recessed reset button allows the firmware within the AoIP44 AES3 to be updated. Firmware can be updated via the micro-USB connector and connecting to a compatible PC.

The right side panel of the AoIP44 AES3 two link status LEDs that flashes to show when data is being correctly communicated with the attached switch. The left side of the AoIP44 AES3 one, 100Mb Ethercon connector can mate with Neutrik XLR based network cables and standard RJ45’s. This should be connected to a PoE enabled switch or to a normal network switch via a Mid Span PoE injector.

All four front corners of the AoIP44 AES3 feature large holes that are ideal for threading cable ties through for security.

Optional SFP Modules

Dante/SFPS is a single-mode module and Dante/SFPM is multi-mode. Dante/SFP1 and Dante/SFP2 are for use over distances up to 10km and are WDM (wavelength-division multiplexing) types, a multiplexing technology which can be used to enable bi-directional communication over a single fibre. Dante/SFP1 should be used in a pair with SFP2 Dante breakout boxes: See Dante interfaces.
