RODE MICROPHONES - Shotgun

A range of affordable short and full length shotgun microphones and complementary accessories, suitable for broadcast video and theatre applications.

NTG1 - Super-cardioid - Condenser - 48V phantom

Lightweight short shotgun microphones featuring true externally-polarised condenser capsules. A wide bandwidth and controlled polar response, coupled with low-noise electronics, delivers excellent results for film and broadcast video applications. The NTG-1 is 48V phantom powered, with integral switchable HP filter and has an XLR connector.

Included accessories: RM5 stand adapter, ZP1 zip pouch and WSVM foam windshield.
Optional accessories: Blimp suspension basket windshield. WS6 Deluxe windshield. Deadcat wind-cover. NT-SM3, NT-SM4, NT-SM5 suspension mounts. PG2-R shockmount pistol grip.

NTG2 - Super-cardioid - Condenser - 48V phantom plus battery

NTG-2 has the same specifications as the NTG-1, but with the added flexibility of battery powering (via a single 1.5V AA cell) as well as standard 48V phantom power. Both have XLR-3 connectors.

Included accessories: RM5 stand adapter, ZP1 zip pouch and WSVM foam windshield.
Optional accessories: Blimp suspension basket windshield. WS6 Deluxe windshield. Deadcat wind-cover. NT-SM3, NT-SM4, NT-SM5 suspension mounts. PG2-R shockmount pistol grip.

NTG3, NTG3B - Super-cardioid - Condenser - 48V phantom

Precision shotgun microphone featuring true externally RF-biased condenser capsules, which make the NTG-3 'almost completely resistant to moisture', a positive bonus when recording in adverse, condensation-rich environments. A wide bandwidth and more controlled polar response than the NTG-1 and NTG-2, coupled with low-noise electronics, and increased output, delivers excellent results for location film and broadcast video applications, the microphone boasts '50% less self-noise than the majority of shotgun microphones'. The NTG-3 is 48V phantom powered (44-52V, minimum 5mA), with a 3-pin XLR connector. The NTG3 is black, the NTG3B is dark grey.

Included accessories: RCNTG3 water resistant storage container, RM5 microphone stand adapter, ZP2 zip pouch and WSNTG3 foam windshield.
Optional accessories: Blimp suspension basket windshield. WS7 Deluxe windshield. Deadcat wind-cover. NT-SM3, NT-SM4, NT-SM5 suspension mounts. PG2-R shockmount pistol grip. Boompole.

NTG4, NTG4+ - Super-cardioid - Condenser

These super-cardioid shotgun microphones follow on from the popularity of the NTG-1 and NTG-2 shotgun microphones. With added functionality such as digital switching for high pass (flat/75Hz), high frequency boost, and level control (-10dB pad), the NTG-4 and NTG-4+ can be easily operated when on a boom or are mounted on a camera. A wide frequency response of 20Hz-20kHz and low noise circuitry gives the user a more rounded and accurate sound.

NTG-4 is powered by either 12V, 24V, or 48V phantom power via a 3-pin XLR connector.

NTG-4+ can be powered by either 48V phantom power via 3-pin XLR connector, or by in-built rechargeable lithium battery that gives over 150 hours of operation from a charge time of two hours using the supplied Micro USB cable.

Included accessories: RM5 microphone clip, windshield and ZP1 zip pouch. (NTG-4+ also includes Micro USB cable).
Optional accessories: WS6 windshield, Blimp. PG2-R shockmount pistol grip, NT-SM3, NT-SM4, NT-SM5 shock mounts.

NTG5 – Super-cardioid – Condenser – Kit

NTG5 is a short, super-cardioid shotgun microphone weighting 76g and bundled with accessories including WS10 windshield, foam windshield, PG2-R pistol grip, and cable. This RF-bias condenser microphone has a ‘tightly controlled frequency response’ and low, 10dBA self-noise. NTG5 has been designed to excel in adverse environments, with ‘excellent resistance to high humidity, severe cold, damp, and dust’.

Included accessories: PG2-R pistol grip, WS10 windshield, ZP1 zippered pouch, RM5 microphone clip, pro cable, foam windshield.

NTG8 - Super-cardioid - RF-biased Condenser

The NTG-8 is a 'broadcast quality' shotgun microphone featuring true externally RF biased condenser capsule. The super-cardioid pattern and 559mm length gives the user increased directionality, and this coupled with low handling noise and range of 40Hz-20kHz results in a smoother and more natural sound. The microphone's resistance to high humidity environments and high immunity to radio frequency interference means it is suited for many uses including long distance miking, film, television, sports and outdoor broadcasting. The NTG-8 is 48V phantom powered (44-52V, minimum 2.5mA), with a 3-pin XLR connector.

Included accessories: SM8 shock mount, WSNTG8 windscreen and RCNTG8 storage cylinder.
Optional accessories: Blimp with Blimp Extension kit.

Accessories for Rode Shotgun Microphones
