SONIFEX REDBOX AUDIO/VIDEO PROCESSORS

Sonifex Redboxes were introduced in 1999 and were designed for systems integrators. They are very well received in both Broadcast and studio industries. The series of signal processors that include headphone amplifiers, mix-minus generators, silence detectors, tone generators, distribution amplifiers, audio converters and more, are built in two different extrusions, with front and rear panels screwed to the extrusion.

Housed in red-anodised aluminium cases, these are cost effective but high performance, AC powered utility devices, boosting input signals to an analogue line level output.

RB-MA2 - Microphone Preamplifier, Two Microphone

A dual low-noise microphone amplifier, for driving long lines from microphones to mixing equipment and where pre-amplification is required, perhaps to drive processing equipment.

The front panel is blank apart from a power indicator. The rear panel has two XLR connectors for the microphone input with an associated pre-set level control and switches for low-frequency roll-off and phantom power (+48V). The output is by way of XLR connectors and can feed balanced or unbalanced equipment without loss of level. Power is applied to an IEC inlet, with adjacent fuse and voltage selector switch.

Input: -10dBu maximum, 2kohm, nominal, balanced. Common mode rejection: greater than 60dB. Gain: 36-75dB. Response: 20Hz to 20kHz +\-0.1dB. Low frequency roll-off: 125Hz, 6dB/octave. Distortion: 0.01% THD, 1kHz, +8dBu output. Noise: -130dB EIN. Output: +28dBu maximum, 50 ohms, balanced. Power source: 110-120V or 220-240V AC 6W maximum. Dimensions (WxDxH): 280 x 108 x 42mm. Weight: 1kg.

Included accessories: Handbook, AC power cordset with plug.
Optional accessories: The RB-RK1 is a 1U panel to rack-mount the device with the connectors inside the rack. The RB-RK2 (1U) rear-panel kit allows the device to be rack-mounted in reverse, with connectors outward.

RB-DMA2 - Microphone Preamplifier, Dual, Digital

abgekündigt

RB-DMA2 consists of two independent low-noise microphone pre-amplifiers for converting microphone level signals to a digital AES/EBU XLR type or S/PDIF coaxial output and two XLR analogue line level outputs. Each input has electronically balanced XLR-3 type inputs, gain control, 3 colour LED indicator, switches to control a high pass filter (low frequency roll-off at 125Hz) and to provide +48V phantom power. The RB-DMA2 has AES/EBU, S/PDIF and Word Clock sync inputs or internal reference at 32 to 96 kHz sample rates, and has the same sync modes, bit depth selection and channel status bit adjustment as the RB-ADDA: please refer to that product description for full description.

Input Level: -25dBu to -62dBu for 0dBFS. Input Impedance: 2 kohm nominal. Signal To Noise: 130dB EIN. Dynamic Range: >110dB. Distortion And Noise: <0.01% THD + N @ 1kHz. Power supply: 220V-240V AC 10W maximum, IEC input connector (lead supplied)(110-120V model available; call Export sales for details). Dimensions: 1U, 108mm deep. Weight: 1.6kg.

Optional accessories: The RB-RK3 is a 1U panel to reverse rack-mount the device with connectors outward.

RB-PA2 - RIAA Phono Preamplifier, Dual Stereo

For use with broadcast and club turntables and where vinyl discs must be transferred to digital storage, this pre-amplifier takes signals from the pick-ups of two turntables and applies the necessary amplification and RIAA equalisation to provide two stereo, balanced, line-level outputs. Intended for use with moving magnet or high output moving coil magnetic phono cartridges with a nominal output of 1mV to 25mV, the design has been specifically tested to work with the Technics SL-1200 and 1210 range of turntables.

The front panel is devoid of controls, but has a power indicator.

The rear panel has two groups of audio connectors, one for each turntable. Each has a pair of RCA (phono) sockets for the pick-up, with a convenient terminal to earth the pick-up arm, and two female 3-pin XLR connectors for the electronically balanced outputs, which may be wired unbalanced if required. Screwdriver adjustments adjust gain individually for left and right channels. Power is applied using an IEC inlet, with adjacent fuse and voltage selector switch.

Inputs: 1mV to 31mV (ref 1kHz), 47kohms. Outputs: +28dBu maximum, 50ohms, gain adjustable 28dB to 60dB. Crosstalk: Better than -80dBu at 1kHz. Response: 10Hz-15kHz (-3dB). RIAA accuracy: Within 0.5dB of RIAA curve. Distortion: 0.01% THD, 1kHz, +8dBu output. Noise: -77dB, CCIR quasi-peak, 20Hz-20kHz. Headroom: 27dB for 3mV input. Dynamic range: 90dB.
