Denon solid-state media recorders have been designed for AV installations in places such as houses of worship or places of education audio production, live sound, theatre and broadcast facilities. They can be mounted in a 19-inch rack by using the included rack brackets or used free-standing without the brackets.
A professional solid-state recorder, the DN-300R MKII offers dual recording in MP3 and WAV formats simultaneously to SD/SDHC/SDXC and USB media with the ability to record to either media device at -10dB as a safety track - resulting in four stereo files. It may be rack-mounted and has both balanced and unbalanced analogue audio inputs and outputs, along with AC mains inlet (IEC) located on the rear panel.
The front panel has a push on/off switch with side guards to prevent accidental switching, a SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot, a USB port, a rotary control to adjust input level, a rotary headphone level control (with corresponding 6.35mm jack socket) and rotary/push select control. Six buttons allow the user to navigate the menu system on the display; search, stop, play/pause, and record buttons are positioned to the right of the unit for transport control. A 5-stage LED bar graph gives visual aid as to input level; separate USB (blue) and SD (red) LEDs illuminate to signify the corresponding media type has been selected for recording.
Compatible recording media: SD/SDHC card, USB flash memory, external USB recording media (mass storage class). File systems: FAT16/FAT32. Recording format, MP3: MPEG1 layer III audio compression; MP3 Bit-rate: 256/192kbps, stereo. WAV: 16-bit, 44.1kHz; 24-bit, 48kHz sampling.
Analogue inputs: +4dBu, 18k ohms, balanced; -10dBV, 22k ohms, unbalanced. Frequency response: 10Hz - 20kHz, +/- 1.0dB. Distortion: 0.01% THD. Analogue outputs: +20dBu maximum, into 600 ohms minimum, balanced; -10dBV, into 600ohms minimum, unbalanced. Power source: 100-240V AC, 50/60Hz. Dimensions: 1U, 19 inch rack mounting.
Note: The DN-300R does not charge any connected USB devices, not does it support USB hubs, USB extension cables, or SD card readers.
DN-900R
abgekündigt
DN900R is considered Denon’s ‘flagship recording product’, with functionality including simultaneous recording to dual SD/SDHC cards or single SD card and USB flash drive, and network compatibility via Dante.
With many of the features of the DN-300R, the DN-900R also has AES/EBU digital inputs and outputs as well as support for serial and parallel remote control. An OLED display and file-search jog-wheel simplify operation. Playback modes includes single/continuous, repeat, random, and programmed play. Cascade or simultaneous recording between the SD/SDHC card and connected USB drive allow either backup or extended recording facilities respectively. Audio tracks may be 'marked' during record with up to thirty marks per track. Timer recording and playback features, also allow advanced scheduling of capture or playback.
A power switch is positioned at the extreme left of the front panel, with a 6.35mm stereo headphone socket with associated level control positioned above. A single USB port, for flash drive connectivity, and two SD/SDHC slots with hinged and securable flaps, are positioned above buttons that offer 'Move', 'Copy', 'Combine', Divide' and 'Undo' edit functions, or when used with the adjacent 'Shift' button, and 'Dimmer' (display brightness). 'Rec.Mon.' (recording monitoring) and 'Mark', 'Mark -' and 'Mark +' buttons are also found in this section. The OLED display can show track name, date, time, pitch, counter, input audio level, playback range and available memory.
On the right of the front panel, the top row of five buttons offer a choice of 'List', 'Menu', 'Frame', 'Fast Forward' and 'Fast Rewind' playback functions, or when used with the 'Shift' button, 'Media' (display attached media), '-Lock' (disable front panel operations); 'Pitch', 'Pitch +' and 'Pitch -' are used to activate and alter the pitch of playback. The bottom row features the four large 'transport' buttons: A large 'Recording' button lights red during recording and flashes red when recording is paused. The remaining three offer 'Stop', 'Pause' and 'Play'. A smaller 'Back' control, for stepping back through menus, sits below a rotary, jog-style control (with a push-to-enter switch) that allows the user to skip tracks, move the text cursor, menu item selection and set the recording level or recording balance between left and right.
The rear has two female and two male 3-pin XLR connectors for the balanced analogue inputs and outputs. Two pairs of RCA (phono) types provide unbalanced analogue inputs and outputs. A pair of 3-pin XLR connectors offer AES/EBU digital input and output. RS-232C port is provided by 9-pin D-sub connector, and LAN and Dante connections via RJ45. The AC power inlet is an IEC type.
