NEUTRIK NE8FDX-Y6 ETHERCON CAT6A Panel mounting, shielded, IDC termination, nickel

A range of ruggedized CAT6A RJ45 connectors, using proven Neutrik style body-shells, cable clamping, and positive latching mechanisms. These connectors are, fully CAT6A and PoE+ 802.3at type 2 compliant; capable of data transfer rates up to 10GBits/s; and fully shielded with high noise and EMI immunity. Connectors with rubber sealing are also available for IP65 sealing.

The Ethercon CAT6A was designed for data transfer interconnections where a more robust connector is required than the basic RJ45, and are especially suitable for location and outdoor applications, stage, studio and other commercial and industrial environments. It utilises the robust Neutrik latch rather than the delicate plastic latch on the RJ45 (which is disabled in the Ethercon application).

The panel connectors are integrated into the main Neutrik ranges, permitting easy mounting in Universal Series panels or other pre-punched metalwork (see Ordering Note for limitations). They have a D-series style metal shell and secure latching system, and offer either IDC termination or a 'back-to-back' feedthrough version with an RJ45 socket at the rear. For IDC termination, a T568A or T568B wire management block snaps into a metal ground sheet, pairs are separated and inserted into slots. Braided shielding or drain wire should be folded back and wrapped around the cable jacket. The cable is clamped to the ground sheet for strain relief, while ensuring the braided shielding or ground wire is covered by the cable tie. Wires are trimmed, and the wire management block pressed into the main panel housing using a HX-CAT6A parallel press tool (stock code: 55-684) or pliers to complete the termination. They are available with nickel or black shells.

Ordering Note: Ethercon CAT6A are NOT intermatable with the Ethercon CAT6 series. NE8FDX-P6-W and NE8FDX-Y6-W are NOT directly compatible with "Universal" or "D-series" fittings due to the requirement for four fixing holes to meet an IP65 standard.
