LYNX YELLOBRIK FIBRE OPTIC EXTENDERS - Video - 3G/12G SDI

Designed to combat the restrictions involved with the distribution of uncompressed, broadcast-quality, video signals over long distances, these modules, part of the yellobrik range manufactured by Lynx Technik, extend video circuits over distances of up to 10km using fibre optic cables. SDI video signals are supported up to 3Gb/s; DVB-ASI is also supported. The range includes single and dual-channel fibre transmitters and receivers, as well as transceiver modules with both transmit and receive paths to provide bi-directional video circuits over, depending on model, a pair of fibres or, using WDM multiplexing, a single fibre. Modules may be used alone, or mounted in an optional rack-mounting frame.

Convenient for use over long-distance, point-to-point links, the modules are also a useful solution where the maximum reach of copper cables is reduced, by the high throughput required for HDTV 3G SDI, to an inconveniently short length. All modules support hot-swapping and hot-plugging.

OTX 1812 - 3G SDI to Fibre Transmitter - 1 channel - SDI loop-through

OTT 1812 - 3G SDI to Fibre Transmitter - 2 channels

OTT 1412 - 12G SDI to Fibre Transmitter - 2 channels

ORX 1802 - Fibre to 3G SDI Receiver - 1 channel - 2 SDI outputs

Using the same basic module, four versions are available providing a fibre input and two SDI outputs. Each version has a different SFP installed, providing LC, ST or SC singlemode fibre connections or an LC version suitable for multimode fibre.

ORX 1802 LC Singlemode LC
ORX 1802 SC Singlemode SC
ORX 1802 ST Singlemode ST
ORX 1802 MM Multimode LC

The ORX 1802 may typically be paired with an SDI to fibre optic transmitter, such as a yellobrik OTX 1812 or OTX 1842, to achieve a cost-effective optical transmission / receiver system for signals up to 1080p60 (3Gbit/s), while preserving full uncompressed quality.

The ORX 1802 is compatible with any video signal according to SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 292M and SMPTE 259M standards, as well as DVB-ASI.

Singlemode Multimode
Input range: 1260nm - 1620nm 780nm - 880nm
Sensitivity: -3dBm to -19dBm 0dBm to -15dBm

ORR 1802 - 3G Fibre to SDI Receiver - 2 channels

ORR 1402 - 12G Fibre to SDI Receiver - 2 channels

OTR 1810 - Transceiver - Bi-directional

OBD 1810 - Transceiver - Bi-directional

Technical note: WDM

WDM is wavelength-division multiplexing. This technology multiplexes a number of optical carrier signals onto a single fibre by using different wavelengths of light. This can be used to increase the capacity of the fibre or to enable bi-directional communication over a single fibre.
