Microphone windshields and headphone pads should be cleaned regularly for hygiene reasons. It is essential, of course, that they are completely dry before they are used again.
Headphone Wipes
Bactericidal lint-free wipes, impregnated with 70% iso-propyl alcohol mix, specifically designed for cleaning plastic headphone pads. Also ideal for sanitising lip or other close-use microphones. Wipes are 180mm×135mm approx. and available in a plastic dispenser can with snap-shut lid.
Foam Pad Cleaning Fluid
Specially formulated by Canford Audio, for cleaning foam microphone windshields, foam headphone pads and fabric mesh popshields. The active degreasing agent prevents the build up of bacteria and protects against the risk of cross-infection. A lemon scent is added, to ensure the cleaned pads do not smell distrurbingly clinical. Use by diluting the fluid in water, then soak the foam items for 5 minutes, rinse and allow to dry thoroughly before re-use. Fully bio-degradeable, non-toxic and non-flammable and supplied in 100ml plastic bottles.
