GLENSOUND AUDIO INTERFACES - Dante/Ravenna

A range of analogue/AES3 to Dante/AES67 and Dante/AES67 to analogue/AES3 interfaces from Glensound. These interfaces are designed to be used in broadcast audio and recording studios whereby a reliable and high quality end product is required. The AES3 interfaces have been designed for use in outside broadcast, theatre, and location applications, where interfacing between AES3 and Dante/AES67 is required.

AoIP22u - 2x RCA (phono) I/O to Dante

AoIP22 - 2x Analogue I/O to Dante

AoIP22 is an analogue to digital and digital to analogue converter designed to connect line level analogue audio circuits to a Dante audio network.

AoIP22 provides two, 0dB analogue line level inputs to the Dante network and 2 analogue line level outputs from the Dante network. These circuits are electronically balanced on XLRs but can be wired unbalanced. AES67 is supported by the Audinate’s Ultimo chipset and can be easily turned on/off via the Dante controller.

The front facing panel of the AoIP22 has 2 balanced analogue 3-pin XLR outputs that provide outputs from the Dante/AES67 network. The outputs are electronically balanced and set to a line level whereby full scale (0dBFs) on the digital network equates to an analogue output of +18dBu. There are also 2 balanced analogue 3-pin XLR inputs that provide inputs to the Dante/AES67 network. They are electronically balanced but can be wired unbalanced. They are set such that an analogue input of +18dBu equates to full scale (0dBFs) on the digital network.

The right side panel of the AoIP22 has a link status LED that flashes to show when data is being correctly communicated with the attached switch. One Ethercon connector can mate with Neutrik XLR based network cables and standard RJ45’s. This should be connected to a PoE enabled switch or to a normal network switch via a Mid Span PoE injector. It is a 100Mb connection.

The left side panel of the AoIP22 shows a recessed reset button that’s main function is to allow the firmware within the AoIP22 to be updated. The micro-USB connector is used for connecting the AoIP22 to a PC when updating its firmware.

Optional SFP Modules

Dante/SFPS is a single-mode module and Dante/SFPM is multi-mode. Dante/SFP1 and Dante/SFP2 are for use over distances up to 10km and are WDM (wavelength-division multiplexing) types, a multiplexing technology which can be used to enable bi-directional communication over a single fibre. Dante/SFP1 should be used in a pair with SFP2 Dante breakout boxes: See Dante interfaces.
