GLENSOUND AUDIO INTERFACES - Dante/Ravenna

A range of analogue/AES3 to Dante/AES67 and Dante/AES67 to analogue/AES3 interfaces from Glensound. These interfaces are designed to be used in broadcast audio and recording studios whereby a reliable and high quality end product is required. The AES3 interfaces have been designed for use in outside broadcast, theatre, and location applications, where interfacing between AES3 and Dante/AES67 is required.

AoIP22u - 2x RCA (phono) I/O to Dante

AoIP22 - 2x Analogue I/O to Dante

AoIP22 AES3 - 1x AES3 I/O to Dante

AoIP22 AES3 is designed to easily and quickly interface existing AES3 equipment to a Dante/AES67 network audio system, providing one balanced AES3 audio circuit on and off the Dante/AES67 audio network. PoE ensures that only a single cable needs to be connected to the network to carry both audio and power. AES output is synchronised to the network audio sample rate and as such the clock follows the Dante/AES67 circuits.

The front facing panel of the AoIP22 has one 3-pin XLR input that can accept sample frequencies from 32 to 192kHz, and the AES3 output can support sample rates up to 96kHz. AES3 transformers provide isolation of the audio inputs. The front panel also features a single 3-pin XLR output.

On the rear of the AoIP22 AES3 there is a recessed reset button that enables the firmware within the AoIP22 AES3 to be updated via a micro-USB connector. Firmware can be updated using a compatible PC. The right side panel of the AoIP22 AES3 has a link status LED that flashes to show when data is being correctly communicated with the attached switch. The left side of the AoIP22 has one Ethercon connector that can mate with Neutrik XLR based network cables and standard RJ45s. This 100Mb connection should be connected to a PoE enabled switch or to a normal network switch via a Mid Span PoE injector.

The four front corners of the AoIP22 AES3 have ‘large strong’ holes that can be utilised for threading cable ties through for security when making temporary installations.

Optional SFP Modules

Dante/SFPS is a single-mode module and Dante/SFPM is multi-mode. Dante/SFP1 and Dante/SFP2 are for use over distances up to 10km and are WDM (wavelength-division multiplexing) types, a multiplexing technology which can be used to enable bi-directional communication over a single fibre. Dante/SFP1 should be used in a pair with SFP2 Dante breakout boxes: See Dante interfaces.
